As I had the birdroom at back of aviary (wich was naturally lit) with numerous holding cages all new birds were placed in them with white cotton sheets over half the cage...fresh seeds water... and some had electrolytes (diamonds plumheads etc prone to scouring) after bout 3weeks stand back at a distance and see if they remained tight feathered if they did checked for worms if none they were kept for further 2weeks introducing greens etc...if worms detected they were left and started on worming treatment...otherwise after aprox 5 weeks they were released into the main aviary which was just a case of leaving their door open till they were out in the birdroom then open safety door to main aviary and away they went....
but it is a bit hard when your a novice and a little impatient which we were all quilty of at some stage
