I used to have lots of silver charcoals but the friendly neighbourhood Antechinus liked them too, leaving me with just one pair.
I'd like to create some more - I have surplus silver cocks, surplus charcoal hens.
How do I go about getting back to silver charcoal with this combination. I will also have some silver charcoal babies that can be used at the next cross if needed or I can break up the original pair and use them if its more useful.
Any advice would be appreciated.

I'll have a go...
Thread the surplus silver cocks onto a skewer and roast over an open flame until burnt. Unfortunately using this method you don't get any hens but that's often how it is with finch breeding!

If someone can tell me the inheritance of both mutations I might be able to make some suggestions.

Silver is Dominate , Charcoals are recessive , if you pair a Silver to a Charcoal you get 50% greys and 50% Silvers they will be all split Charcoals if you are lucky to get a Silver Cock and a Silver Hen pair them together and you should get 25% Silver Charcoals ,

Thanks Garry - now I have direction not involving an open flame.
What would I get if I paired the silver split charcoals back to Silver Charcoal??

Assuming both are autosomal, you'd get 50:50 silver split charcoal:silver charcoal from that cross.
