No prices given from what I can see, but Im sure the freight would be a killer.

Freight would be a killer.
Air freight -
1 cage would be approx AUD250.00
10 cages would be approx AUD900.00
Ocean Freight
40 cages would be approx 900.00 (approx 1cbm)
If the total cost and freight is less than AUD1000.00 then you will not pay duty and gst.
You would need to bring >50cages ocean freight to achieve any sought of economy of scale.
If anyone is interested i can offer advice on shipping.

Would seem a shame to spend all that money to freight over empty freight boxes. So LukeC, any chance you could organise to have them filled with birds? I'm sure we can all suggest suitable species.

Trouble is by the time you get the 50 cages @ $250 each for the economy freight you are already over the $1k mark and so subject to duty and GST.

Ok,i think Mick Fidlers oversea's interests in plastics blowmould may be able to come up with something that can be done here but patents/copyrights would probably stuff that up.probably wouldn't hurt to ask though and send an email of it for him to look at. There is only two things I would possibly look at changing. One wire size,Not sure on distance apart but a finch may get its head caught in it( leaving room for the drinker somewhere). Two a rubber baffle in the door so it could be used at sales etc with ease.

Following an email enquiry to the manufacturer they phoned me today to discuss the Safari NZ99 carrier in the YouTube video. Apparently a company called OZ-Avian has expressed an interest in representing them in Australia. I have searched but cannot find such a company. Has anyone heard of them?
Despite this they are sending me some info with a view to freighting a small order (under $1000 to escape GST) to me and will get back to me on what the costs might be. They retail in Italy for 80 Euros which includes 21 percent VAT. Is there any actual serious interest from Forum Members ...and what would be the considerations. Please comment.
