Today I found a patch of Veldt Grass with seeding heads which I pulled up and fed to my birds,
they thought it was Christmas. Now thinking back to last year I can't remember collecting it
till Oct/Nov! I have regularly found Milk Thistle right through winter, is anyone else down
Victoria way finding Veldt, I don't know it proper name but it's the one that looks purple.

Thats long flower/ear veldt grass we get around Geelong and this year it is seeding earlier than usual, probably due to all the rain we have had,i'm also starting to pick pannic veldt seeding heads, which is the cream of the two for finches. Craig

Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Just Googled Panic Veldt and recognized it as the stuff I was getting from my neighbours weed patch earlier
this year. Must stick my head over the fence tomorrow.

yes seasons already changing, noticed the mangoes throwing some flowers yeasterday, and also note the crimsons making nests again and the siskins singing there heads off. The recent rain and colder weather may steady things up a bit.
Cheers
