you whimps only had cod liver oil to worry about....i had to deal with castor oil....thats an order of magnitude worse......my ol' mum thought it was a cure-all........and a very effective punishment...if i didnt do as i was told she say...."if ya dont do it ill give you a dose of castor oil"....you never saw lil skinny legs in short pants disappear so quickly....one thrown over my bike and then i took off to my mates place...i reckon if i could go back in time mum would be in the kitchen laughing like mad....there wasnt much i wouldnt do to escape a dose of that stuff

pfft castor oil / cod liver oil lolly water I grew up a navy brat and the navy use to supply these little red capsules to any one with a sore throat .
They were the worse tasting thing on earth and the liquid coated the throat for hours so the taste never went away.
God only knows what they were probably some experimental drug not meant for civilian consumption..
I reckon I had tonsilitis for years b4 I told anyone my throat was sore ....Gotta go now the flashbacks are traumatising me

"I'll stop feeding you" worked on my kids till they learnt to cook for themselves.
And behaved or I'll kick your backside ran out of steam as soon as they reached their teens.
Particularly with the son, who would say "You can"t reach without falling over" (Don't you hate it when they outgrow you by a head)
