Some years ago I allowed some of my young Gouldians to moult out in a semi dark room as an experiment ,low and behold all 8 youngsters looked very much like to the Picture posted, needless to say that they all moulted out into their normal Colours the next Season, but breed with this bird and keep track of their Offspring and maybe there is something new in the making. Enjoy your new comber to your Collection.

Going back to 2001 there was a couple by the name of Ison(may not keep birds anymore) from over that way and they had a number of those birds
with much darker head areas. The colour seemed to be fixed and may not be a changing melanistic feathered bird.
Time will tell

So the turquise is showing now. But still very dark. Another pic in another 6/9 weeks and all should be revealed. Thanks for the update.
