Alice Springs has a new record , 5 mornings in a row below -4 deg. For the past few weeks we have had many mornings below zero, temps are recorded at the airport and some areas in town are well below what is advertised. At work we have registered several below -5.
2 more National Parks have been announced. Limmen National Park and Limmen Marine Park. Combined area of more than 1 million Hectares. Add this to recenly announced Tanami Conservation Area and its a massive step in the right direction
The birds here are going nuts at the moment. Things have dried off (big time) and i think this may have many species trying to put numbers on the perch before we head back into a drought cycle.I have zebbies trying to nest in my office ! and large flocks of budgies can be seen in suburbia.
Desert Park has some Black Honeyeaters on eggs as well as many other species nesting. Will keep yo posted on any new arrivals.

Sounds glorious, DB.

We're having a harder than usual winter here, too, but no zebs in my office....

Daytime temps are good 18 deg plus. Apparently we are at over 20 days with 0 or less for a minimum night temp.

at work today there was almost-inch-thick ice on all the water bowls. That was at 10.30 am, and it was still there on the ground where I left it when I left at 2.30pm....
:wtf:
cold winter.

And I complained when it got down to +2. I must be soft. Tell us when you start growning white fur and go into hybernation mode. :silent:
