If you want doves, make sure you listen to a recording first to hear how much noise they make - Generally they are pretty quiet. I managed to end up with a pair of quiet ones (Senegal Doves) but peaceful doves would drive you mad after a week!!!

Im not entirely sure - they don't play nice with their own kind either in aviaries with more than one pair.
Actually, I don't mind the noise - I think it sums the Aussie bush. But my family beg to differ!!!

I have some wild doves here. The funny thing is everyone thinks they are pigeons cos they gorge on dog biscuits .. I always let my dogs eat 24/7 and so do doves. I kid u not the cock dove looks like a fn. Partridge !!!!

For the noise factor I was talking about Peacefuls, but I was saying my Laughers are pretty quiet at the moment.
You know, it's just occurred to me, I've never seen a laughing dove in the 'wild' despite living in Perth for five years.....

Hmm, maybe they're only like that in the wild then - I haven't actually kept them, but when I'm on banding/birding trips you know when theyre around!!
Do your Zebras have a different call? the ones here make a cook-a-luk noise every few seconds.
