Are bfpf and tcfp able to inter breed?? re they the sAme species?? What is the difference ??

They are two different species, and yes they can interbreed. Have a look at their species profiles for a good description, blue faced in Aussie finches, tri coloured in foreign finches.

Sheesz !! How can a bfpf breed with a foreign species??so basically PF's are all able to interbreed??!!

Hmmm although others have probably had them interbreed...I have kept RFPF and TCPF together for many seasons and they had shown no such interest...they kept to their own kind and RFPF hatched and reared twice as many young as TCPF..

Totally agree vettepilot_6,they have never crossed with RF in my aviaries or anybody elses i know of.Blueface is a different matter,in the early days when TCPF's were over $1000 a pr,the majority of young were cocks and were sold cheap or given away as hens were hard to come by.A lot were bred to BF hens with ease and the resulting young were infertile and the young cocks looked remarkably like TCPFs except for their size,the hens still showed green in their breast feathers.
The reason i am telling this is,i paid $800 for such a pr many years ago only to find out they were hybrids by pics in Russell Kingtons book published a year or two later. Craig
