Anyone out there got a 20kg bag of seed they could measure for me please?
Im trying to get quotes for some transport and some carriers go by weight others by size of the item. All my seed has been put in my storage barrels and the bags have been used and thrown out.

I can't help you with Dimm of a 20kg bag of seed
Most carriers go by pallet load, because some seeds weigh lower than others such as a 20kg bag of jap millet will take up more space
than a 20kg bag of Red Millet.
Mine is freighted in per Pallet Load which is 50 bags or 1 tonne. Cost $50 and it is trucks in from 250km away

This is just for a bag or two via bus freight so any 20kg bag will do just to give them an idea of the size.

Gday Diane, the size of the bag the greens and grain came in last year measures 650 l x 390 w ,a 20kg bag 700 x 480.The only trouble with the bags from last year is they were plastic, but im sure we could transfer the seed into proper bags for you,im sure you would be in contact with Mr tino through this process, hope this helps garyh.

sorry to sidetrack this topic but ....a new way to "rank" finch breeders.
by the amount of seed they use.... anyone who orders seed by the pallet (1 tonne)for their own birds has got my vote.
orix you must have a truly amazing /hungry horde down on the mighty murray.
by the way a 20kg bag lasts me a month or 2....so i dont rate a mention.
i know quantity versus quality and all that but....i take my hat off to you.

that seed is not eaten by orix's birds alone. at least half of it he eats himself.
it is his way of checking if it is ok for the bird's, he eats it first.
if he lives then they get fed the following day
