Dry spell and another record looming.

It seems we break records almost every year over the last ten years and in particular the last few years. Record wet -2010, record cold spell 2012, and now we are days away from a record dry spell. No rain since April, not a drop. Currently 2nd driest period since 1972.
I also recall several years averaging 40 deg for daytime temps in Jan, not rare but 10 days straight over 40 and some those pushing up to 45 deg.
Global warming (i believe its a natural cycle perhaps hastened by mans burning of fossil fuels) sure seems to have an effect out here over the last 5 to 10 years.

not much of a spring by the sound of it.
even though you are a long way from northern nsw our weather still seems to track yours so we may be in for a dry year too.
at least parasites/coccidia may be struggling too.
tend to agree with your weather cycle thoughts .... hopefully man has'nt stuffed it for good.

I understand that it should be correctly called "cyclic climate change". Which has been happening (though on a slower and less dramatic scale) since the begining of time. As "global warming" misrepresents the situation. Yes summers will be warmer, but winters will be colder. May it rain on your parade DB.

Yup.....its far from even nudging some of the extremes that have ebbed and waned over geological time..........the Riversleigh fossil deposits in western Qld is just one insight into how our climate has changed from 40 million years ago.............thousands of "new" (old) species galavanting about in a lush tropical rainforest.......then either a meteor hit or a flotilla of martians used us for target practice with their ray guns.....but they built some cool pyramids ......then everything bounced back.....as it always has.....with help from the Giant Spagetti Monster who created the earth, the trees, the mountains and the midgets.....all with his noodly appendage....... The driest 3 years in a row occurred in NSW in the mid 2000's.....then it rained ....we've just had our most number of wet winters in a row.....but thats only since the late 1800's since reords have been kept .........all the same, our climate varies......and depending on one's depth of understanding.....and politics......so, do our opinions as to the reasons for that variation........I prefer the evidence in the rocks than the BS on telly.....
