Hey guys, Just signed up to the site and thought I would say hello. Ive just gotten into finches after giving up on owning fish for the last 5 yrs. The upkeep on them was doing my head in so I thought I would go back to my other love. Birds.....
Atm I have just the one aviary 2.4m l x 1.8w x 1.8h. Within in there I have 2 pairs of cordon blues, a pair of plum heads, a pair of CFW zebras and a normal grey male.. lost his mate a couple days ago. Unsure why.
Im 33, live in ipswich qld, married with 2 kids. So yeah anything else you would like to know just ask....

Welcome brockssracer. I would have thought fish were less upkeep ? I suppose it depends on how many tanks you have. What sort of fish did u have.

fish have their hassles. water changes, temperature control especially in the warmer months if you dont want to a/c the whole house all the time, cleaning the tanks etc. I used to keep african and american cichlids, a planted tropical tank and L#s. I only got 3 tanks left sitting dry. One of them I am going to turn into a palidarium ( i think that is what it is called)
But I am alot happier with birds now. At least I can hear them make a noise instead of just listening to air pumps and filters!!!
