Well done. I just bought a pair myself so I'm encouraged by your determination to breed them.

Did they use a pre-made nest or did they build their own?

im not sayen anythen here if poitta sees this post im sure hell comment about the boss. but me dad has known them for 20yrs or so
but yeh its good worken there get all the odd birds picked up few so far, to name a few there has been 2 very lite pied cordon, pied star, and now the pied orange breast, but then also have been a few pied ruddies which have been very light. a mate of mine works at a different bird dealers part time and hes picked up a few good birds to one of them being a pied painted. so worken in a bird shop does have its benefits with that sort of things. i also get a few new contacts through work thats how i got me yellow winged pytillias a guy came in to see if we wanted to buy them which we wouldnt of so i said ill buy them myself cause i was looken for some and yeh got them. been very good worken there

they built there own nest in the brush

You have me  Chris
There is nothing more interesting than finding and establishing (with good management and a large dose of luck) a mutation.
Very pleased to hear that things are going well for you.
Sounds like I should talk to you about getting a mate for my Split pied ruddy cock next time I'M down in the big smoke.
