Hi All,
Our letter outlined the location, cost, ease of access and several other items relevant to the location we have identified.
I expect that our letter may be discussed by the Committee at the next meeting, so it could be some time before we have a response. But as soon as we have a reply we will let AFF members know the outcome.
Cheers
Paul

Yes, Mr Tino. I think anyone who remembers the past status of the ASA read these comments with sadness and concern. In these times when everyone seems so "time poor", the load of bird sale, journal, meetings need to shared around. I do frett for the club but sometimes it takes a crisis to get new people off their butts to help. I hope this happens.
It sounds like you guys have made a great start. You seem to have the best interests of the club and its members at heart. I hope this reinvigorates the Melbourne Bird Sale.

HI All,
Some good news.
Last month Mr Tino and I wrote to the Committee providing them details about a site (the Colubria Club in Bulla) which is about 5 minutes drive past the airport. We identified the reasons why it would be a better site than La Trobe Uni.
This was discussed at last months Committee meeting and we have been advised that whilst changes cannot be made for 2013, a Committee member would investigate the suitability of the site in Bulla with the view of seeing if it is appropriate and available for 2014.
We cannot ask for any more than that.
Cheers

Hi All,
As promised the ASA Committee contacted the Colabria Club in Bulla with the view of holding the Melbourne bird sale there in the future. The Colabria Club Committee decided that they did not want the floor coverings of their venue affected by bird seed/droppings. So the end result is this venue is no longer available for our sale. This venue is currently hired by canine group(s) on a regular basis. It was seen that our event may negitively impact on these groups future use of the venue....don't know why, but ultimately it doesn't matter as the Colabria Club Committee rejected our offer to hire their venue......just wish they had of told us that when we first enquired and avoided wasting our time.
Back to the drawing board....but I am glad the ASA Committee followed through and explored this venue.
Regards
Paul
