Hi are the following grasses safe for finches?
Are any of them good for them to eat?
FOUNTAIN GRASS (Pennisetum alopecuroides)
KNEED WALLABY GRASS (Austrodanthonia geniculata)
FEATHER GRASS (Austrostipa elegantissima)
TUSSOCK GRASS (Poa labillardieri)
LONG HAIR PLUME GRASS (dichelachne crinita)
My local nurseries only have lomandra, so I am resorting to ebay to get seeds so I can grow grasses for my finches as locally I can't source seeded grass that I can be 100% sure hasn't had pesticide on it.
Thankyou for your help.

Lestra, dont get too hung up on pesticides from local grasses. You live in Maryborough you should have heaps of local grasses (most beneficial being Green panic growining in your local area). Most councils only spray road sides not large paddocks, so anything wider then the shoulder is usually ok, same for creeklines, big open paddocks are fair game. I assume your talking about collecting seed heads. If your talking about growing grass in pots for your avairies then local seeds will do you good and sprayed or not it wont affect the germination or the birds..
Cheers
