I think we started celebrating too soon. Babies died overnight. Was a bit colder than usual this morning so I'm not sure if that's the cause of their deaths..? They were 10days old and had feathers and were quite big so I'm really disappointed that they died. We were feeding them grass seed, meal worms, fly larvae, finch mix, broccoli, corn etc. so I can't fathom out what could have caused their deaths. Any ideas?

I've never had them, but they're cup nesters aren't they, so they're more exposed.
Have the parents recently stopped sleeping in the nest? Might have been the cold.

got in late last night so i didnt go out to the aviary but when i looked in on them this morning, the hen was trying to warm them up and appeared to be a bit agitated. it was colder than previous nights, so i'm sure it was the cold that killed them. hopefully they'll breed again and that the weather will be alot warmer.

Sorry to hear that. I lost a nest gold fiches to a night fright once and they have a cup nest. Maybe the same happened. The up side is if they bred once they will do it again.
