I went in my aviary to give the guys some more mealies and noticed some small grey things flapping about.
I have not noticed any nests and think it could be my ruddies or OBs.
I would bet ruddies only because the rooster ruddy is chasing them around.
If there nest is where I think it is it is literally a spare room added on to the painteds nest...
Some pics below may be able to help the more educated to identify...I have a normal cock bird (quite young) and a pied hen (6 months old).
None the less I am happy regardless

Mine have done the same thing. Very bonded, but no sign of sitting. Then, look what we have. I have a small cane washing basket hanging in the avairy stuffed with grass, haven't seen anything going in or out. But, Not just the Ruddies but the Double bars suddenly have fledglings. When no one appeared to be sitting, just showing kean interest in the goodies. So I knew they were thinking about it. They just got the drop on me.

Yes its nice to get a surprise, one day I found 8 young stars out, but having a few pairs of stars in the same aviary, I thought were from a couple pairs, but, it seemed to be only one pair feeding them.
