Birds stolen from wildlife park
Several birds have been stolen from a wildlife park in Sydney's west.
Police say a man broke into the park at Doonside late on Christmas eve, cutting off the locks of aviaries and stealing 10 birds, worth around $15,000 to $18,000.
Two of the birds were macaws, valued at around $6,000 each, while two cockatoos and six doves were also taken.
Officers believe the theft was carefully targeted and say the man had good knowledge of the park.
Did anyone here go to Featherdale on Christmas Day?

Aaaawhh Greg! I opened your thread expecting a feel good story
I've worked in several pet stores and aquarium shops and all have had livestock shoplifted including puppies, birds and even fish!
I hope this bird thief knows how to look after them.

Trouble is the larger birds do not handle change very well and can become stressed if their routine is suddenly changed ...poor things need to be returned asap .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

That's good news to get the macaws back
, as its not often you hear of stolen birds being found let alone being located so quickly after a tip off
Maybe the other birds have a chance of being found also.
