HI all,
Just wanting to know what everyone else does with their canary eggs when removing them?
I am curious as the where there is an ideal temp to store them at?
Can they be stored in a container full of seed?
Do they need turning?
And how long can they stay out for?
Just curious as I have decided to remove the first three eggs from one of my nests.
Normally I have left them and let the hens to their thing but having lost so many I though I would try something else.
Thanks for the advice

I store them in a box under the bottom row of cages out of the sun.elferoz777 wrote:Just wanting to know what everyone else does with their canary eggs when removing them?
Any room temperature that is not hot and uncomfortable.elferoz777 wrote:I am curious as the where there is an ideal temp to store them at?
I use a plastic tacklebox with an inch of seed in the bottom and air holes in the top.elferoz777 wrote:Can they be stored in a container full of seed?
Not unless you plan to store them for more than four days before incubation. In which case turn twice a day.elferoz777 wrote:Do they need turning?
I have never tried for delayed incubation for more than a week with canaries.elferoz777 wrote:And how long can they stay out for?
Good luck

I do mainly the same as Red with 2 differences.
I keep my eggs on hessian in a tackle box, and I do turn the eggs everyday when I add the next egg laid, as I believe that the hen turns them every day in the nest.
Everyone does things a little different, but the results are pretty much the same.

Yes make sure you turn the eggs a couple times a day.
