painted hybrids?

i know one or other on the forum will know this. will painted finches hybridise with any other finches

Very very very uncommonly, not something you have to worry about IMHO.
I know of a record of a nest of hybrid painted-redbrows, but there is no record I can find of any other hybrids with painted finches.
Avid amateur aviculturalist; I keep mostly australian and foreign finches.

That's very true Matty,and i have seen that hybrid,the breeder was trying to sell them off as beautiful firetails and i must say they did resemble them. Craig

The bugger! I wasn't aware of that; did he manage to sell any?
I'd love to see a photo, but I suppose that is out of the question.
