i would be interested to know if anyone has kept and bred jacarinis in cages as opposed to aviaries. I would like to give it a go providing it doesnt stress them or is generally a hopeless exercise. The cages i am thinking of usinf are 1mtre longxmtr high. thanks

would need some extra branches/cover for them to settle well to cage life I reckon - not an ideal cage species.

How is the male going to do his display?
He will end up with concussion from hitting his head on the cage top!!!

i decided against trying it. there is a guy who successfully breeds them in cages 2 suburbs away from me.i have also been told they are frequently bred O/S with no problems but i dont have any imperative to do so. so its off the agenda.
