Any Sydney members willing to take a couple of hitch hikers on the way home?

Arrived at Gunnedah in time to look at the trade sale hall prior to the 10am bird sale. Not to crowded as I was led to believe when compared to other years. Time to catch up with some of the business people who had their wares for sale. A lot of talking and dealing??? I noticed prior to the sale itself, exchanging boxes and the folding stuff. Probably pre-orders I imagine, as was the case when I was summonsed over the load speakers just as I was entered the bird sale hall. By the time we loaded the birds in the bus and I returned to the sale (around 30 minutes latter) most of the birds I was looking for myself and other people had gone or sold stickers applied to the cages. I had missed out on the initial onslaught of buyers, maybe another time, lucky for me I was only looking this time. Sorry, no photos taken (battery on new camera gone flat after yesterday aviary visits) or bird price written down. Hopefully the local AFF members can supply some.
Over all the crowds of people elbowing their way around the sale I found was not to be that bad. Most time the bottlenecks of pedestrian traffic where only created when the sellers stood in the middle of the isle and negotiations of the over priced birds which takes for ever, yes I am impatient before anyone has their say. I realise space is at premium in the sales hall BUT WHY is this the standard practice. People travel along way to these sales just to have some idiot and his mates hover all over the place so no others can see let alone talk to the sellers without have some body shove, push or trip over their carry boxes (normally used like a battering ram weapon).
For a person not buying I finally loaded in the bus: 3pr finches, 2 Nyassa lovebirds, 2 bags of seed, a finch mag, confirmed orders for quails, swamp grass, whydahs and saints to stock the new aviary at home. I have only the small 3 bay aviary to finish off and a special pre-order to arrive in about a month or so and the 2 year wait is over.
In all that time, 8.30 - 1.30, no one introduced themselves as AFF members. This I thought was a let down. On a positive note Manly won on the weekend so the sweaty beanie had alot of people notice and make pleasant comments concerning the Manly players their heritage or sexual partners.

I had a great sale at Gunnedah, had taken 60 finches and sold all but 5 green singers . Caught up with vr1ton, country capital ,tiaris , Bgould , some well known bloke from Tassie and quite a lot of other finch friends and made a lot more new ones . Had a very busy day on Sunday showing people around my breeding setup .Sorry I didn’t catch up with you again Wagga ,I was there from 7am to 4pm so you had plenty of time to track me down. In all it was a fantastic weekend . Over all bird numbers were down a bit , I haven;t got the official numbers yet, I can post them later .
