I had a peak in the nest of my green singer to find a tiny little baby  (appears to only be one in there).

This is the first cup nester I have bred in an aviary and that built in brush not a cane nest.

I only hope it survives to leave the nest as it is quite cool here at night and it is the first nest.

I will upload a photo when I get the chance though I am trying to keep ,y aviary visits to twice a week so not to disturb them.

I know its only a singer but I am pretty stoked to have them successfully breeding.

Bordering on my favourite song bird at the moment.

Congratulations on the chick. I hope it survives the cold snap.

seems the cold wasnt the issue...it was the wind

Our found my little friend on the floor......thrown out of the nest..

I can only imagine the wind might have startles the hen during the night as branches were blowing into the aviary..

Either that or I have a homicidal gouldian in the aviary...dont thin the ruddy would have done it

Oh well back to the drawing board.... :(

Sorry to hear your news. A single chick gets cold real quick particularly as the cold weather begins in earnest.
