I have an extra large pot plant water saving dish fixed to the hoppers in my aviary .
The dish is roughly 3 inches wider than the hopper dish and works quite well in catching spent husks and clean seed (I have melbas and those buggers will empty a 3 kilo seed hopper in no time looking for niger or bugs) once a week I empty the dish and sieve out the husks and return the clean seed to the hopper .
Clean , easy and cost effective .
