Hello to all.
I am Mandie from Melbourne Australia.
I got my first Finch's around a month ago. A pair of fawn Manikins. After two weeks they decided to breed and make house. She has had 5 eggs and has been patiently sitting (more patient than me !!). So, that is exciting, hoping everything goes well with those.
In another cage I have another pair of Chocolate Manikins, Lady Gouldian's and Double bar Owls.
I put 3 nests in there and the Manikins started nesting straight away, so did the double bars. But, then the DB started steeling the Manikins straw out of their nest and then right from out of their mouths. So, I separated them into their own cage. The manikins were in their own cage only 30 minutes and started making their new nest (I had already put nesting material and a nest in there). These little birdies really want to breed don't they !! So, it looks like I might have another pair breeding.
As for the Owls, I will just sit and wait to see what they do. Question: I have no idea whether they are a pair or not, they both makes the same sounds and they both sleep in the nest together. They are also building the nest together. Will two males do this? Gosh, I am really hoping I have a pair, I was told they were def a pair when I bought them.
Anyway I am glad to be on the forum and to learn more and take in all the knowledge I can.
Mandie.

I see that my Bengalese are called different names here and the USA. I am lost as to what to call them

I posted this on another thread but I know you breed the Bengalese so you may be able to help me out with the colour of my 2 pairs.
