It's actually at Hawkesbury Race Club at Richmond this year so should be called Richmond bird sale from now on I suppose. I'll be selling along with a few friends so please say hi if you spot me.

I'm not going on Sat night but I imagine it should be great.nxe04d wrote:I'm going Sam will stop by and say hello. By the way I'm looking for a young pair of Diamond Firetails if you have any. I am also going on Sat night
I recently sold a heap of diamonds so wont be taking any. I do have a few young diamonds that I haven't managed to catch yet so if you don't get some at the sale then let me know.

Oh I wish I'd read this post before I went as I'd love to meet some of you!! Nice lot of finches. I bought a Painted hen, a pair of St Helenas 2 pairs of Plumheads plus a spare hen for my lone male who is trying it on with every other species hens!!! Would have loved a pair of normal Diamonds but only expensive mutations were left. Also got a beaut pair of violet Masks and a pair of pastel Masks (my first foray into non-finch birds). Also spent way too much on product!!!

Incredible, I had no idea that many people kept birds in NSW. Unfortunately I had other commitment, there was everything and anything for sale, I only grabbed two 10kg bags of Australian grown Niger and a large bag of beautiful red Apples. I feel bad I forgot the camera but maybe next year. Sadly 90% of all birds (parrots) were mutations of some kind.

We have just returned from attending the Castle Hill Bird Sale and to be honest came away disappointed.
The range of Finches available was well below what we expected and have seen at earlier C/S sales.
Prices were about parr maybe up a little but numbers were many less than some other sales around.
I hope the smaller number of birds available was due to the time of the year and breeders were keeping
stock back for the coming season.
At least the parking was better especially if you arrived early but the venue ????
The range of trade stands and number of seed merchants offering their produce was excellent possibly the best I
have ever seen and quite well priced as well. I think the 1600km round trip may keep us home in future.
