i sold my last pair of red face stars for $20 -just to move them. pretty sure they were a pair but i got that wrong with the yellow fronted mutation. actually the dealer was colour blind. one thing you must remember in the bird world - just because were have birds doesn't mean were are all nice guys...........although i have been lured by the $$$$$$$$$$$ -its been paying not selling.
some of my best rip -off's were from dealers. 2 pair heavy pied cordon $750 plus freight. when arrived - got one heavy pied and 3 with hardly any white at all. dealer said they will come good after their molt......2 years later which moult.
where was that place birds are we - birds are you - i will leave that between US :lol:

Hi Wildbill.

I thought it was only us the inexperienced ones that got ripped off. I bet you were moulting yourself when they didn't turn out as you wanted.

It is my actual birthday today and i am more than happy with the ones i got 'ripped off' with. They are doing just fine.

As you are not in Melbourne you wouldn't know where i got them from although he said he does sell a lot interstate. But i doubt he cares at all.

A belated happy birthday from me!

One bitten, twice shy and unfortunately it's all part of the learning curve.



I am really posting to let all you knowledgable people now that there are plenty of stars being bred in cages/cabinets in Europe.
One of my friends alone has 10 pairs breeding in cages. So there! lol

Case thats all well n good...but dont think its the same in Aussie....would take quite a few years n a lot of heartbreak to get that to happen here...all our birds are used to the bigger size cages/aviaries n dont think beginners should even attempt it IMO
