Nothing wrong with the design, accept that you can't put it in the aviary. :D

Why?? . . a bit of 12mm square or 12x25mm mesh over the entry hole to allow mice but keep out birds plus a lid would make it aviary friendly

I reckon it is the best mouse trap I have ever seen and will be making one asap along with a "big brother" for rats

I have had a "Ketchall" trap for decades and it is yet to break its "duck" as far as mice are concerned . . but after it caught (unharmed) a zebra finch it was banished fro the aviary

I was refering to it being unsuitable as is. With the modifications you suggest she would be a goer.
I had one of those mouse traps that look like minature cray pots and it was great in the safety cage. But not in the aviary, curious star hen committed hari kari by going head first and getting stuck. :(

I liked the design, wasnt sure if it would would work in an aviary setting, but he was worried about the veggies!
 He's obviously spent quite some time thinking about it. Most of all I liked his style of writing, he made me laugh

With those modifications it could work. Maybe you could take some pics for us when you get a working model arthur?

Another good mouse trap story, this guy took pictures of the action too. Strobe flash photos, engineering tricks, the works.

Nothing yukky for those with a delicate constitution. ;)
