I was wondering if the following plants were safe to put in my zebs cage.

Native violet
Albany wolly bush
White Diosma

I have all 3 growing in my garden :)

Thanks

Ive had Albany woolly bush branches in my aviaries for a while and no ill effects with Gouldians BFPF, Emblema, OBs. I usually rinse them and the birds go mad digging around getting the water!

Thanks Blue will give the wooley bush a go.

Does anyone know if native violets are harmful ?

That stuff is like a weed in my garden and if i can give it to my zebs as part of their green diet!!
As it is I am struggling to find suitable green stuff that I don't have to buy!!

Thanks :)

Silver beet is easy to grow and nutritious for the birds, probably the safest solution.

Native violet flowers are safe for people to eat, not sure about the leaves.

I must admit I have not seen them ( native violet & diosma & wooly bush) mentioned on any plants for birds lists , which is why I thought I'd ask here :)

My neighbour has silver beet & parsley growing in her yard and my zebs are not interested in them!!
She also has an abundance of weeds ( can't remember their names) that unfortunately according to the experts are toxic to birds!!
The only green that I have growing is dandelion and finch seed chuckouts that have spouted in the garden :D

thanks
