Nutty Finches

My original male zeb has decided to build his mate a nest in one of the feed containers!!


This is addition to the original 2 that he built, they take turns in sleeping them!!

This is the cage they are all (4pr) in



Mind you with a nutty owner its not surprising I suppose

I have a few that try and build a nest in their shellgrit containers, and some daft hens who lay eggs in their food bowls or shellgrit etc even if the male has built a lovely nest in the nestbox. They give up eventually!

I am surprised my zebs haven't tried nesting in the bigger seed container on the left of the cage, its bigger and covered!!
Will be interesting to see which nest the females choose !!

Good grief!!

I put another feed container in (on the upper left of pic) 2 days ago (with some aniseed tonic in it which my zebs have demolished, ) and the zebs that were making a nest in the one on the right of pic, have decided the 2nd container is a much better option and have transferred the nest to it!!!

With all this nesting I hope I get some babies out of all this
