guess i was wrong about the breeding season over for me and the gouldians. as i opened the door to the aviary for the afternoon feed i heard a bit of a thud! looked up and sitting on the perch was a young yellow gouldians. had no idea they were still breeding so after that surprise it had me thinking if there's ones there's probably more.........maybe even another blue! a few days on and time will tell.
just goes to show you what goes on when you take little notice of certain aviaries. i was planing to cement that aviary floor section in the next couple of days - that rules that task out! or for at least a week

4 young out today - 1 yellow and 3 greens  suppose which ever way you look at it - a blue would be too late for next years breeding season.

looks like there all out today so it ends with 5 young - 1 green 3 dilutes and 1 yellow. must have wore all the colour out of the pair - no blue!
that will change by next year even if i have to import them lol

overnight, very heavy rain and strong winds in the central tablelands of nsw. got up early to check out the stock. as usual water was on the floor everywhere so rather than sit on my A-- i got up on the roof and threw off the offending material which was causing the drama.
after that i nailed on 3 good sheets of laser light and back inside the aviary to check out the work. the dungeon had brightened up some-what and sitting on the perch amongst a couple of young pastel blue gouldians i am pretty sure i sited my first SILVER!

You have stormclouds overhead, so you get storm cloud coloured Gouldians. :lolno:
