Me thinks it might have had a little help emerging from the next because this perch is about 60cm down from the nest &
it had 2 other perches to land on before this one :o

mind you it hasn't got far to go for food :) seed bowl is about 6 inches away!!

I put the poor little thing back in its nest, it was starting to get bugged by the other adults & poor ole mum & dad didn't know where to go 1st.
They were encouraging it to go up but it wasn't strong enough!

Parent birds always encourage their young to fly, but just cause they don't always listen does not mean they can't. As long as all chicks are out and the weather is good you can safely leave junior to learn how to move up the cage/avairy.

Hi Finchy
I put the baby back in the nest, it was the only one out so I think it fell out, whilst it was out one of its siblings was having a good nosy but didn't come out!
There is a perch right in front of the nest so that they have somewhere to rest when they do emerge & so mum & dad can keep guard easier :)
