Since Friday it has been so cold in Vic and I have lost birds due to the rapid drop in temp and now I have seen the weather for next week I have had to put the winter covers back on all my Aviary's :( - Come on summer.

Be careful what you wish for :silent:
Perth had its hottest October day on record a couple of weeks ago and 37+ today
It might be a long hot summer

Cheers

And up the WA coast here we have had a few high 30's also. Watching the auto waterer is functioning correctly.

There is talk among Victorian canary breeders that it will be the worst breeding season in years.

Superx,

Got back home after the weekend on the Gold Coast and the weather here in Sydney is not much better, wind, rain and not real warm. Same as you I put the winter covers back on yesterday afternoon and it looks like they will be on for a couple of days at least. Hope you don't have any more losses.

Ken.

I think the covers will be on for more than a couple of days - But now the birds are happy again keeping out of the cold wind and rain especially all the new young ones that only fledged last week.

Weather mob just advise that if W.A. weather for November continues as it has started it is on track to be the hottest November on record.

I'm confused, the data seems to support Finchbreeder's statement

"Hottest November on record Avg. max. temp. 29.6° Perth W.A. 2010"
Well yes. That sure looks like it could easily go.
