just another day in paradise gouldianpaul ....
like polar gouldians stated, this summer is proving relentless with 35c plus days, but it seems that the birds are getting conditioned to the heat.
the problem i see with your southern weather for the birds at least is that one day its 39-40c then the next day its 19-20c(this year some of us would like that problem).
all i ask for is a little moisture to keep the seeding grasses alive....even the indestructable johnson grass is barely hanging in this season.
maybe aquarium fish would be easier....perish that thought.

Adelaide is set for some more hot temp days. We have had several days of mid 20s after 2 days of 39C and as of today we start a climb up to 42C next Tuesday and Wednesday.

While the normal hot weather is quite a trial, the worst part is the sharp up and down of the temps we have had this season so far, its not giving the birds time to acclimate.

We had a fairly hot day here in Perth today (43 degrees Celsius).
I went out in the middle of the day to redo the water in the aviary and cages and noticed one of my young female Zebras looking worse for wear (on the bottom of the cage on her belly). I brought her inside and gave her some water from a small medicine syringe - she seemed to perk up (and do a few laps of the kitchen). My kids thought it was great fun. After half an hour I put her back and she seems fine.

46 up the coast here on the same day, but with the big shade tree and auto watering twice a day everyone was fine. Then the temp droped 6 degrees Sunday and another 6 degrees today.
