G'day all,
My interest in finches began when I was about ten. Starting with Zebras then Double Bars, Cordon's and Bengalese.
Travelled around abit in my adult life so now settled in Hornsby and have had zebras and gouldians for the last two years mainly just to enjoy them.
Now more interested in breeding them again. My one regret from my teen years was breeding double bars. At that time they were hard to breed in captivity and we finally got them breeding and sitting on the eggs only for our dog to knock the door off the cage when chasing mice and the birds escaped. So I have still yet to have any success with the double bars.
Am a fan of all finches but mostly Australian Finches.
The aviary is set up and just about to step up from the zebra/gouldians that we have been keeping.
From what I can see the forums will be a great resource.
Cheers,
Yamato

Thanks everyone. Already learnt plenty just from researching the posts. Looking forward to learning from all the combined experience here.
SamDavis, yes I was looking at the Finch Society. I am pretty sure I was a junior member about 30 years ago but I am guessing my membership may have lapsed.....
