My cordon bleu cock has been doing the mating dance/song for at least two weeks and every time he is near the hen she is just not interested or flys away. He has even built several nests. Do I have a dud hen or should I just be patient? I bought the pair about 3 months ago and are apparently 12-18 months old. I have sneaking suspicion that female might be older and that's why she may not be interested in breeding. Would love some advice on this fabulous species.
Cheers
Ben

We'll I purchased another hen a few weeks ago and put it into the aviary and all of a sudden the old hen has come to life. She is now showing interest in the cocks nests and has entered the most recent nest he has constructed. He continues the mating dance each day and she is now showing interest but have not seen them mate yet. She does not allow the new hen to go near the cock and chases her away....just what's needed, a bit competition for a mate???
