I have an "Old Holden" in my aviary.
Anyone have an idea of what built this? It is on the floor and an aussie species

Funny isn't it with birds. I started my Gouldian breeding season on 'boxing day' last year. Had 20+ young on the perch by the second week of Feb, despite the heat.

Might look at doing that again next year as I held off this season. I have 10 young hatched in the last week from two pair so far, others are checking boxes out.

Better off letting the birds decide when to start.. especially by the looks of your aviary

Wonderful to see that they can build a nest! Have had them use old nests in tee tree of painteds. My aviary at this time is bare, no brush, no boxes, but the goulds are trying to use the vertical brush holders (PVC pipes) as nesting sites. They are fighting with the stars and painteds for the same.

Well done.
