They nested in like a bushy tea tree bundled up and put into a cylinder of wire. This pair nested last year in a connifer tree but chose this tea tree stuff over the connifer, the birds got fresh cos lettuce and leb cucumber every day and sometimes chicory. They only really eat baby cos lettuce not the bigger stuff.the baby is a hen.

In one of those fully enclosed finch cane basket type boxes. I posted a pic in my post about them and no one believed siskins could make such a dodgy nest.

Weather wuse I think your young bird should be fine.

i had a pair of siskins that nested and went down for a second round in a cane basket but died in a heat wave! :(

Awesome effort!

Mine also breed in a wire cylinder but for the first time this year they used a larger, wicker basket. Surprised me that is for sure! But they bought out 3. In the other nests I only ever get 2.

Not sure why???
