Pretty happy this morning, had 10mm of rain last night and the first of my Gouldian chicks for the year just hatched. Also have my young RFPF in and out of her nest box, so things are looking promising there too. How did the rest of the West Ossies go with rain?

It has been pouring down here for the last 36 hours, and was drizzling steadily for the previous 48. Great for the gardens, but a real change from 5 days ago. Should get all the finces and grasses going beautifully.

That makes my exciting 10mm sound just a bit piddly Finchbreeder, but great news for all the wheat farmers and the rest of you further up the coast. Have just rushed out and planted a whole heap of seeds and hope we get some follow up rain.

Yes our 50mm over Friday and Saturday was a bit of a shock. Had to go out in it and poke the cobweb broom handle up the downpipe to clear the leaves. Result, water flowing correctly, and soggy Finchbreeder. :problem: More water got into the avairys than usual also, so dry floor in short supply. :eh:
