A friend has this feeder in his back yard and the day before this was taken he counted 22 Lorrikeets and countless New Holland Honeyeaters.
It is a flaggon with a small hole in the lid and a glass marble inside the lid to block the hole to help stop dripping.
It's only sugar and water and he fills it twice a day.

There are lots of arguments for and against feeding wild birds.
However feeding them sugar and water is not a good idea and leads to a lot of problems with these birds.
If you are going to feed them at least use a decent lorikeet formula. Sugar and water may taste good and give the birds energy but there is nothing else in it and birds feeding on these diets on a daily basis show serious deficiency problems including seizures and increased susceptibilty to disease and predation even if it is not their only diet.

Other problems occurred as well like swarms of bees attracted to the feeder, scary for visitors coming through the front gate. The next visitors to arrive were small black ants, millions of them and it became a bloody nightmare.
