At Skye this year they had a sign please ask seller before taking a photo. From what I heard it was a small sale, but it is expected for a first one. Were they sold out of tables ?

.....Just in case the 'Greens' are monitoring this forum could we all take care in responding to this question!....
To use another person's famous quote 'Please explain'?

Carefully considered response . .

I think most on this forum would consider ourselves to be on the 'green' leanig end of the spectrum . .

BUT

It is the 'extreme' part of any organisation that we need to beware of . . we have as many rights as they do provided we act in a MORAL fashion

Take care in responding by all means . . but let them bully or browbeat us    NO WAY

"Live and let live" / "Do unto others"

WAY OFF TOPIC :silent:

If the sellers, and buyers, followed the rules and did the right thing for the welfare of the birds then there should be no problem. If they didn't then perhaps those who opposed the sale have a point. Would have been better for the stewards to be enforcing sale rules rather than stopping photos. One sign I saw said "No Cameras", but I am sure most people inside carried a phone with a built-in camera. The so-called "Greenies" could easily target any other (bigger) bird sale, where cameras are allowed, to try to find ammunition for their causes, instead of at a little place like Cobden.

Agree Emmo

In summary, what I am saying is to get our own house in order . . and then tell the radical greens to 'go fly a kite!'

Although I do have some sympathy for stopping photos to restrict radical greens, I suspect it is a misguided policy. If I was a "radical green" (heaven forbid) I'd be attracted to a sale with such a policy like bees to a honey-pot.
