Hot weather showers

I have just come inside after hosing down the aviaries again.....man its hot out there
My gouldian boys had a wonderful time flying in and out of the spray, at first I thought the spray might be scaring them, but they were hovering right in front of the spray and flying to branches right in the path of the spray to have a shower.
The gouldian girls dont like the spray as much but they seem to appreciate the soaked towel I have on the floor of the aviary as they spend most of the time on that section of the aviary floor. Cant wait for Tuesday.....cool change

Cool weekend here only in the mid 20's - bit breezy.
Perfect weather for cleaning away some of the flamables, in case we get bushfires when it hots up again. W.A. has been a bit "firey" not in my area, but no point taking risks.

Have been doing the same thing. 42 here today and all my birds were on the ground all day.Gave the ground a good spray & they seem to like it.Haven't lost anything yet(have 4 quail chicks 4 days old and 4 Painted fledged today) Lucky I'm on holidays.

I put an old towel down in one aviary. Then when I hose the aviary down the floor stays cool and wet for longer.
It looks a bit messy but Im more worried about the heat than the mess

Good call all Just went out with hose also gave the Gouldians some relief ;)

Just look at the below website for weather and it is 42 in Adelaide at present.
