In the last couple of days when I give the finches their greens, I have been hearing young calling from a nest. So I have stopped and observed who goes to the nest. Confusuion. One day it is the Double Bars, next day it is the Saints. Anyone come accross this before?
I am just going to wait and see what come out. All fledglings are a blessing.

My vote would be double bars. Saints would rarely nest at this time of year. But rare doesn't mean never!

Up this way 30yrs ago Saints would regularly start in Sept . .

Now they seem to go at any time of the year

As my little flock of Double Bars are regular breeders I expect it is more likely them. And the Saints are just being sticky beaks. But as I grew my Saint flock from one to 4 earlier this year I live in hope.
