Hi team,
Last season I bred this cock bird. This isn't the clearest of pictures but he has a huge blotch of yellow on the back of his neck (SF euro yellow). Although its nothing amazing to look at I did a bit of research about it and found an American website which recognised it as a mutation from memory? Unfortunately I can't find it anymore and I'm pretty certain one of you guys will be able to tell me exactly whats going (too much gouldian genetics for one brain to handle).

I had a pair like that. Then one chick all of a sudden has ond small patch of yellow at the back of his head. Ay is one of those well hidden genes.
If you want some info on genes (sorry i am not sure how much you already know) Look on the lady gouldian website. They have a great beginner guide to gouldian genetics and its explained in a way thats easy to get.

This is where I started learning,
http://www.finchinfo.com/genetics/lady_ ... colors.php
It will explain why single factor birds with a white breast are visually yellow.
Enjoy.
