Why not leave it as 1 aviary 6.5 x 2.7 and have a mixed collection, the birds you want to have all mix happily together. Less work, less wire, less metal.

Thanks for the welcome posts,I used to keep finches and doves when I was a young kid and am getting back into it after a break of some 50 years. I used have one aviary which I found difficult to catch the birds in. What would be a good width for a flight I have 2.7 meters wide. What gauge of 1/2" mesh do you recommend for native finches.
