I was just wondering if there is a list or guideline to what native softbills can be kept in aviculture (mainly in S.A.)?
Thanks, Painted4

Not overly but thanks anyway
I mean, I have a list of all birds that can be kept under a basic licence or are exempt, and then they say that any bird not mentioned on the list comes under an advanced/specialist licence....but i've read somewhere (now I can't find where) that there is a list of softbills that can be kept in captivity.
This is purely for future reference, and curiosity.
Thanks, Painted4

Sorry, I haven't taken the time to read the links etc.
From my understanding, SA (and the NT) have the most liberal bird keeping laws... As you said anything not mentioned on the basic list can be kept on the advanced license providing you can source it.
Hopefully someone with first hand experience can add to this.
Cheers Ian

Yeah, sourcing would be the issue, I think.
Hopefully, thanks for your help though
