Before I come on the Forum I usually take a look at "Petlink" and Gumtree '. Still dreaming about Hen Diamonds,
The Audacity of some people never seems to amaze me, On petlink there is a person advertising Baby Black birds for $100 each with a picture of a hen blackbird if you please.
Now we all know that Black birds are beautiful whistlers and can become tame if hand fed but to ask for $100 for a hen is rediculous. By the way should anyone want a couple of Black birds
There is a nest in my backyard with 2 babies in it about 5 days old. Get in quick if you want one for FREE. Its no joke PN me really.

I am sure my wife would love to get rid of the black birds that try to ruin her garden.
I would love them to go especially when they start scolding one of our local Kookaburras at first light and continue until
their threat has moved.
Yet after all that if some one puts a price on them that is their right. They are not a protected specie these days and
if someone asks a $100 and can get it good luck I guess.
A couple of years ago while looking in a Melbourne (CBD)pet shop there was a normal pair of Peach Faces in a standard type cage.
The sign said Beautiful Lovebirds on special $120. I do not know if they sold but if they did someone made a killing.
I guess it is up to the individual.

I have a resident Blackbird pair and without fail they nest in the Honeysuckle every year. They raise at least 3 nests of young each year, last time I looked there were 4 eggs but I guess by now the chicks wouldnt be far away from fledging.
The Honeysuckle is grown over an archway and as we walk through the archway to the shed...a journey made many times a day some day...just a quick glance to the right and the bird sitting on the nest can be seen.
