True Willy,this year is shaping up as one of the hottest we have had since the big drought a few years ago.Water birds/fowl congregate in those last areas drying out as fish are easy to come by in the warming shallows,they then move on mostly flying at night to the next area.
In Victoria we could have hundreds of thousands of ducks one day and the next day the majority are gone as they somehow know where the rain is falling two States away.
If the truth is known,the authorities also let some areas dry out to kill the introduced European carp(as shown in the pic)that cause havic with water quality and destruction of native fish.Don't believe every thing you read. Craig
