Birds snoozing / resting after their food - Normal ?

I recently made up some fresh soft food ( a new mix for me ) as I usually fed foods separately.....this time I used fresh green peas, broccoli, spinach and grated sweet potato, I gently steamed them to make them soft and then mashed it all up together, I added some freshly sprouted seed, some dry egg biscuit mix, some normal seed and a little vitamin and mineral supplement .

I fed it to them as a mash and the all seemed to love it...they ate with great relish, and then once they had their fill they flew back to their perches and eventual ALL 30 of my finches had a rest, sitting completely still and snoozing for 10-15 minutes before slowly resuming their normal duties of nest building and generaly jumping and flying around and going back down for second helping !....is this a normal thing ? I am assuming they are letting the food go down or digest. I'm probably worrying over nothing ! L.o.l

Did you put it in around middle of the day? if so they were probably already snoozing and seen a nice treat to eat before going back to snoozing

I did yes, but prior to that they were flying around building nests and chattering away, they ate the food, then all of them just flew back to the perches and sat quietly , not a peep out of them....15-20 mins later back to normal again...quite odd !! L.o.l
