Pete thanks for the tip. I don't think this is the case as they seem to be very happy roosting next to each other most of the time. Given what you have said re aggression I'm wondering whether it may be the male red faced parrot as it seems to always be chasing the hen fire tail. Is this normal or do I just have an over active RFP. The hen RFP is sitting at the moment on around six eggs and seems to have been there for a number of weeks now.

yes that could be your problem the old red face , they like most others can be very territorial when nesting. try to put a few more perches if you can away from the red face nest , i have them both together with no problems but my cage is 4 m x 4m so there is plenty of room, but on the other hand when the diamonds nest they can be buggers to......pete

I give my cuttlefish whole, after a quick swish through clean water to get most of the beach sand off, but as they get some beach sand too I haven't had iodine shortages.
My cuttlefish I collect fresh off the local beach each after storm season. :D

I have about a hundred cuttles from my trips to the beach
I give mine whole, and hey just grind away at it. I nail it to the aviary wall.
